Spanish Packaging Design | Baturrocks Chocolate Series × Aragonese Culture

Brand Background

LAPACA is a boutique chocolate brand based in Huesca, Spain, co-founded by renowned Spanish pastry chefs Raúl Bernal and Silvia Buil. The brand is celebrated for its respect for local culture and experimental style. Committed to exploring the connection between food, design, and regional culture, LAPACA's products frequently win awards in the Spanish food industry. Baturrocks, its latest creative chocolate series, presents a combination of "rock + nuts," expressing the emotional warmth of Aragonese local culture through modern packaging language.

Creative Concept

The Baturrocks series transforms the traditional farmer image "Baturro" into the main visual element of the packaging, creating an interactive experience for consumers through an avatar puzzle game. Inspired by the cachirulo (red and black checkered headscarf), the designer uses headscarves of different colors as a flavor identification system for the products, forming a highly visually recognizable SKU system. The entire packaging adopts a modular design with a standard square box shape, allowing users to freely piece together multiple avatars to form interesting and coherent visual combinations, thereby increasing the desire to collect. In addition, the illustration style is simple and modern, with playful lines and saturated colors, enhancing the "gift-giving feel" and "fun," making it not just chocolate, but also a "Aragonese cultural puzzle."
